I hate being a mommy, and a lesson on sight

I hate being a mommy when I'm sick. It's not fun for me, it's fun for Matey up until he gets bored and wants me again, and it's not fun for my housemates who now have to deal with the bored little prince.

I was puking and other things yesterday/last night and while I'm better this morning I'm not on top. The beautiful baby is fine- not sick in any way (aside from a runny nose that is actually on the mend now).

I gave birth to a boy. Matey LOVES the construction machines outside our backyard (I know girls can like trucks ect. too, George loved that sort of stuff for the longest time). If someone is holding Matey and standing in the right spot he can see 2-3 diggers, loaders, whatevers. If Matey is sitting on the right part of the floor he can see the top half of one of the larger machines with an arm. However, when Matey goes up to the window himself because people are lazy and refuse to hold him all day, he can't see ANY of the machines. It confuses him greatly.

I'll hold him for a few minutes, then move him to the floor where he can see the workers. Matey will sit and watch them for a minute or less and then crawl over to the window and make noises at me cuz they're gone. So I pick him up and he watches them for a few minutes, then move him to the floor and it goes on and on.

When I feel better (hopefully in the next few days) I'll post pictures of me and the baby. thePirates been bugging me about this. Husbands. Sheesh. You'd think thier memory would be better. Can't even remember what we look like. Wants NEW pictures to see how we're growing...

So THAT's what they're for!

Today baby DK came to play with Matey. He's the cutest baby in creation. Matey loves to touch him and doesn't understand why people pull his hands away when he's only trying to poke baby DK's eyes.

Baby DK is also very smart- he showed Matey what those things are for. You know, those cup things with a funny pacifier on top? Matey had seen them and played with them but didn't know what they did. DK was drinking milk out of one! Matey wants one if they give you food and or drink!

Matey tried to take baby DK's because he was making it look too good, but Mommy made him stop and then got Matey his own one! With pop~! She's the best Mommy, and DK is the best baby.

Guinea Pig

Once upon a time AuntBeki posted a recipe of the most peculiar design. AnWanna decided she would try to make the recipe too. Bell peppers were roasted, almonds were ground but when it came time to taste the mix she was too scared! So she searched the kingdom and came upon Matey. Nothing was too much for little Matey to handle: he bravely opened his mouth and she popped the spoonful of gruel in. Matey smacked his lips, rolled the food over his tongue, and deemed it DELICIOUS! Can he have some more please?

Growing up.

Before the stacking rings were a threat strangling the noble red tower. It needed rescuing and Matey was always at the ready to rip and fling and throw the evil rings off their prisoner.

Now however Matey has found a discovery that will change things forever: He can place the rings onto the unsuspecting tower at will.

Have no concern for the beloved tower- Matey can never get all the rings on before the excitement of ripping them off again takes over.

Yesterday we were playing and he never got on more than four out of the five rings before squealing with delight and upending the tower to slide off the tortuous rings.

(if you didn't get it: Matey can now play with stacking rings by putting them ON as well as taking them off [which has been doing for 6 months now]).
