it's hot here.

we've had lots of fun visiting Las Vegas and Matey has had a ball meeting all of his relatives here. Today's our last day and we're going to go out for dinner and take Matey to his first movie: Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

He's getting really good at going up on all fours but he mostly just rocks back and forth and slides back down to his start point, but Matey is working hard on actually crawling and hopes to get someplace by six months.

George couldnt help but share the limelight with her cousin Matey.

We love thePirate and miss him lots.

Beths Party

It was mostly good.
We went to Chuck-e-cheese and had fun, Matey liked looking at stuff, lights, people.
Then he ate while I ate.
and then it got alot louder in hte building and he was done.
but he was pretty good and didnt start crying until we were almost home.
I've taken pictures, hopefully I'll be able to put them up.

Let me start out with that I'm OK

so we visited the ER today.

This morning when I woke up I could feel that I was passing a stone and that it was on the way out but then this afternoon there was LOTS of pain feeling like another stone was up in the kidney stuck.

After trying a few home remedies to make the pain lessen I was on the floor feeling like I was going to pass out/throw up.

All this while I could hear thePirate in my head saying "we have insurance, go to the hospital!"

So we did.

After hanging out for 3 hours they told me that my kidney and ureter were very swollen so he thought that I had recently passed a stone, but there was nothing on the CT scan (aside from a bunch still up in the kidneys).

Not to call anyone a liar, but that was the MOST painful passing a stone experience I've ever had. Usually its uncomfortable for sure but even with a stone I don't normally feel like puking or passing out.

But they gave me morphine and I'm fine now so fingers crossed that was the worst of it and next time I pass a stone it will be like normal and just uncomfortable and not another trip to the ER.

p.s. Matey didn't like it at ALL.

We're here

We made it! But only because we had amazing helpers: Buh for helping clean and pack and drive, and Abuelo for driving and funding.

Matey was not a good traveler this time but he was having some gas issuesso he really can't be blamed- it was my fault eating whatever upset him.

Now to unpack...

El Cid: It's just his style

(El Cid left a comment asking if the mohawk was thePirate and I or Matey)
He lost his hair in a "U" shape, leaving the mohawk on top and 'old man hair' below his ears. The hair that was lost has now grown back in, it's simply Very pale blonde (like thePirates apparently was) and fine so it doesnt show up at all in pictures or video.
It's hard to see in real life too most the time.
My hope is that the dark gets pale or vice versa, thePirate wants it to stay two toned.

We're going off the air now...

Well, I don't know when we'll be going off the air but I'm calling Comcast today to try and cut the cable as soon as possible. I got hardly any sleep last night but I never sleep well all alone (with noone else in the house) ((Matey doesn't count)) luckily Matey slept in till 8am.

We're missing thePirate lots, as I'm sure he's missing us too.

Buh is officially on his way to us and I just got the u-Haul confirmation and while its not at the one you can see from our apartment its also not the one 40min away (like last time).

love you all.

It's a Loverly LOVERLY day!

I wrote the words of the post and then put on pictures and now I can't make them (the words) be first. ah well...

thePirate and Matey (note: Matey is not so huge as he looks in this, it's an optical illusion).
Matey is such the goofy grinner... I love it.

This is an older picture (Matey around 2 months) but he still makes that face, I'm sure I'll see it lots more.

thePirate took this hisself the day we went to the beach, this expression (on Matey) reminds me of V, I'm not sure why.

I think I've posted this one before but he's just so happy in this picture.

(we watched a series of unfortunate events last night)

it is a positively BEAUTIFUL day here in the Pacific Northwest

(it's raining)

And theres no sarcasm here. After record breaking highs in temperatures and record meeting lows in rainfall it's about time there was a good ol' fashioned downpour.

today there is.

I LOVE THE RAIN. while lesser folk might get pouty and melancholy from the rain I thrive in it. Its so pretty how could you not be in a happy mood?

maybe i'm a duck.

in any event i will sorely miss my precious rain as I'm leaving right when it getting good but hopefully Idaho will have some rain during its fall/winter season.

Toys

If you can't hear the dialog he's asking for toys.

BTW he's 15lbs 11oz and 25 3/4 inches and his newest form of communication is blowing raspberries. He rolls to his back like a pro and if he could just move he would be free of these whack-o's.
