The Awesome Aunt Beki!

On July 20th Aunt Beki and David came to visit us! We met them at the beach and they played at the nearby park too.

Deer we saw that Matey kept trying to chase/scare/catch

Super cool dragon that David made from nearby beach stuff.

Castles that the knight Matey defended from the mean dragon.

 Aunt Beki and Matey.

 Uh, oh! Where's Matey?

There he is!

Watching the ducks at the park.

Explaining that we didn't have any bread for them to eat.

Matey insisted that I take a picture of their butt.

Smelling the roses at the rose garden.

 David attacking Matey.

 Matey coming to get me!

Playing on the toys at a second park.

Looking through the openings on the bridge.

David was very concerned and made sure Matey didn't fall through. How sweet!

Aren't they all so cute?

Matey had a great time with David and Aunt Beki and will be posting pictures of our Zoo adventure soon!

Hope you had a Happy 4th!

So the city I grew up in has a strict no firework law, I now live 5 min outside of it in another where you're allowed all the fireworks you want. It was super fun.

With a sparkler at the beginning of the night.

 Shooting Roman Candles with Joe.

Matey with a sparkler later in the evening.

 One of the fountain fireworks.

A ground firework.

We all had a lot of fun and Matey LOVED playing with the fireworks. He was disappointed I would only let him shoot off roman candles with Joe and play with the sparklers, Matey wanted to light the big ones too.

He also got to play with party poppers (or as he called them: birthday surprise) and pop-its.

It was a lot of fun and he can't wait until next year when we can do it again.

Without his chubby butt on it the stack of pillows and blankets was about 4 feet high. Matey was so pleased with himself that he made it all the way to the top, completely missing the fact the pile was only half as high once he got on it.

At the park with water sprinklers.
It was a bit of a chilly day but we drove to it and I was going to get him in the water.

After a while he got in the spirit of it and had a blast.

He's doing well and seems to be completely over his recent cough, although he still tries to talk me into giving him medicine, apparently it tastes too good.
