i'm not living with any of you- i'm going to alaska. its not hot there. some sadistic weather person threatened that we'd hit 90... i didn't watch him tho, i watched the one that said we'd stay in the 70's.

thePirate doesn't get to stay home on weekends while he's at WLC/NCO academy/the-next-step-towards-making-sargent... but it seems thus far he'll be home most if not all nights even tho he gets off work at 7:30pm.

Matey goes to the Zoo

And slept virtually the entire time... I didn't really expect anything else and it didn't stop thePirate and I having fun so it was good. This first one is of Matey and the penguins (they were also sleeping and are to the left of his shoulder). He did at one point wake up while in the aquarium, gave it the look of "we have fish at home" and went back to sleep.

This little fishey wanted to eat Matey but I told him 'no' and he eventually went away.

Matey saw the Dr again and he is now 10lbs 2oz, 21" long and his head is 15" big.

to sleep or not to sleep

Matey won't sleep in the bassinet beside the bed but he seems to be content with sleeping in the bed away from me. like i'll feed him and put him down and then slide a foot away and he won't wake up/care but if i feed him then try the bassinet Matey is all sorts of vocal. i don't get it.

and then there are the times when he doesn't want me scooting away and instead wants to use me as a pillow/snuggle.

we took a shower this morning (all of us) thePirate held Matey while i washed my hair then i washed up Matey- thePirate still holding him- and then Matey and i left so thePirate could shower in peace.

i've got a little water baby: bath, shower, rain - he likes them all. i can't wait to get him in a pool and see how that one goes over.

but he fits it good. isn't he soo cute being all squirmy?

Can babies be bulimic?

Matey doesn't spit up lots but when he does he gives me a look like "what was that for?" and then complains that hes hungry until I feed him, and then more often than not he'll spit up again (when he starts he forgets how to stop).

The times that he doesn't complain for more food is because he stopped himself halfway through spitting up and re-swallowed what was in his mouth.

Doing Good

For those of you who haven't heard Matey had his first Dr.'s appointment and he is now 8 lbs 10 oz and 21" long. Thats an 8 oz gain in weight and half an inch in length.

I keep trying to tell myself thats its ok that the house is messy and that eventually Matey and I will work out a system where I can get things done.

His lungs work perfectly but his sleep button is broken...

thePirate is currently playing 'squad leader' because the real one is ... gone somewhere... it made it so he got home after 8pm yesterday. He's goig to be in this role for a week more (possibly) but hopefully he can get home sooner.

Happy Mothers Day

Here are current pictures (all taken within the last 4 days). Mateys first bath (he is sitting on a piece of foam that is yellow).
He really did do very well- at first the water was a little to hot for him but after cooling it he was happy and just hung out.

My two little boys

So far so good. Both me and thePirate try to get sleep

when and where ever we can. Niether of them are asleep here but arn't they just

the cutest?
This was while we were still at Grammys house- the
first time they slept next to each other.

I think thePirates only complain of sleeping with Matey is that

Matey always wakes up first- and loudly.

I hand thePirate Matey so I can go to the bathroom and when I get

back they're both fast asleep.

Matey is doing good, mommy and thePirate are tired but good as well.

It happens less now (only when he's about to go down for a long nap) but after eating Matey will look like the above pictures, a face which thePirate has fondly nickednamed 'the drunken sailor'.
